چکیده
The genus Stephanostomum consists of digenean trematodes found in many marine teleosts. In this study, cesticillus (Molin, 1858) Looss, 1899 metacercariae were identified European hake ( Merluccius merluccius , Linnaeus, 1758) caught the Tyrrhenian Sea. encapsulated muscle, close to spine and gills. Out 131 specimens, 111 (P = 84.7%, mI 25.1 mA 21.3) infected by trematode metacercariae. Morphological histological evaluations carried out. members are characterised a double crown spines oral sucker. For identification parasite, molecular analysis was performed via 28S 18S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) genes. Partial rDNA sequences highly matched S. for percentage similar identity from nucleotide database BLAST. present survey reports presence M. first time. Our results improve current knowledge on parasites better understand distribution Mediterranean Sea shed light life cycle parasite adding other possible hosts.

Research Article: Modeling the trajectories of growth and reproduction in European Hake (Merluccius merluccius, L. 1758) from the Sea of Marmara, Turkey
The study evaluated to model the growth and reproduction aspects of the hake, Merluccius merluccius, in the Sea of Marmara. On-board sampling was conducted on the commercial beam trawl fishery from February 2016 to January 2017. For the growth trajectories, using monthly length frequency data set, different methods were employed to improve parameter optimization. The variation of reproductive i...
متن کاملSome characteristics of sperm motility in European hake (Merluccius merluccius, L., 1758)
The objective of this paper is to characterize some of the sperm motility parameters in European hake (Merluccius merluccius), which is considered to be a species with aquaculture potential. The total ATP, ADP and AMP concentrations were determined using high-performance liquid chromatography on hake sperm samples collected during the winter-early spring in the Bay of Biscay (France) (n = 22) a...
متن کاملGill net selectivity for European hake Merluccius merluccius from southern Portugal: implications for fishery management
A study of European hake Merluccius merluccius gill net selectivity was undertaken off the Algarve (Southern Portugal), between 1999 and 2001. Four nominal mesh sizes (70, 80, 90 and 100 mm) were used in fishing trials and the ‘share each length class catch total’ (SELECT) method was used to fit gill net selectivity curves. Hake were caught in the same size range by all mesh sizes, between 17 a...
متن کاملCYP1A and metallothionein expression in the hepatopancreas of Merluccius merluccius and Mullus barbatus from the Adriatic Sea
The enzyme CYP1A is an established biomarker of fish exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). The metallothioneins (MT), a family of Cys-rich proteins, bind a wide range of metals and participate in their metabolism. The aim of the study was to examine the correlation between CYP1A and MT expression in commercially important fish species Mullus b...
متن کاملProtein denaturation in frozen stored hake (Merluccius merluccius L
Protein solubility of whole and minced muscle of hake (Merluccius merluccius L.) was evaluated at different temperatures of storage: -5°, -12° and -20°C. Proteins soluble in 1% NaCl did not show any change at any of the temperatures of storage, while the 5% NaCl-soluble proteins decreased significantly when whole hake was stored at -5° and 12°C (p < 0.01). A correlation was found between the de...
